Insurance for Professionals

We place every line a professional practice needs — general liability, BOP, cyber, workers' comp and more — and we lead with the coverage that protects your judgment: professional liability, shopped for the best qualified price.

A full program, led by E&O

Every coverage a practice needs — starting with the one that insures your judgment.

KHT places the complete program for professional practices: professional liability, general liability, the business owner's policy, cyber coverage for the client data you hold, and workers' compensation for staff. Whatever your practice carries, we can quote it and bring it under one roof — without making you chase separate agents for separate policies.

But we lead with professional liability, because when your work is advice or a service, that's the coverage that matters most — and the one online tools handle worst.

Professional Liability (E&O)

Not a slip in the lobby — the risk in the work itself: a recommendation, an analysis, or a service a client later alleges cost them money.

It's also priced differently by profession. A consultant, an accountant, an IT services firm, and an agency don't face the same claims — and the carriers who compete for each aren't the same.

That's what an independent broker is for: matching your field to the market that prices it best, instead of a template quote.

Errors & omissions

Defense and damages when a client alleges your professional work, advice, or a mistake in it caused them a financial loss.

Legal defense costs

Covered even when the claim is groundless — and defending a professional allegation is where much of the real cost lives.

Cyber & client data

Protection for the client information you hold — breach response and liability when sensitive data is exposed.

If your business needs it, we likely write it.

Eighteen commercial lines across four areas — from the policies every business carries to specialty and surety coverage.

Disciplines we place

Built for the range of professional practice.

We don't write lawyers — but across most other professional fields, tell us what you do and we'll ask only what your profession's coverage actually requires.

Why place it through KHT

Specific things we do that most agencies don't.

Early renewal quotes

We quote your renewal well ahead of expiration — giving you time to review and compare, not a take-it-or-leave-it the day before.

Multiple carriers, lowest qualified quote

We shop across markets and recommend the best-fit, best-priced option.

Owners on your account

An established, owner-led team. When you call, you speak directly with the people responsible for protecting your business.

The renewal difference

Why timing is the A&E hot button.

Most design firms don't switch brokers because of a claim. They switch because their current broker put them in a corner — renewal terms the day before expiration, no time to shop. Here's how we run it instead.

At placement

We match the practice

We look at your field, your services, your revenue, and your states — and place your E&O with carriers who actually understand your profession.

Ahead of renewal

We quote early

Your renewal gets shopped well before expiration — real time to compare, not a take-it-or-leave-it the day before.

As you grow

The program keeps up

New services, more staff, another state — we adjust coverage so it matches what the practice actually does now.

common questions

The questions Professionals ask.

What's the difference between professional and general liability?

General liability covers bodily injury and property damage — someone hurt in your office. Professional liability (E&O) covers claims that your professional work or advice caused a financial loss. Most practices need both, and we place them together.

Do I need E&O if I've never had a claim?

Yes. A clean record doesn't prevent an unhappy client from alleging your work cost them money, and defense alone — even on a groundless claim — can be expensive. E&O exists to absorb exactly that.

What about the client data I store?

If you hold client information, a breach is a real exposure. Cyber coverage handles breach response and the liability that follows a data incident. We'll fold it into the program alongside your E&O.

A client contract requires a specific E&O limit — can you place that?

Almost always. Client contracts often dictate a minimum professional liability limit before you can be engaged. Send us the language and we'll place coverage that meets it, then issue the certificate that proves it.

Can you handle my whole business program, not just E&O?

Yes. Many clients come to us for professional liability first, then consolidate their general liability, BOP, cyber, and workers' comp with us — one broker, one renewal cycle, one point of contact.

Do I have to move everything to work with you?

No. Many practices come to us for E&O first. If it makes sense to consolidate the rest later, we're glad to — but there's no requirement, and E&O is where we lead.

Quote your professional coverage.

Start with professional liability or your whole program — tell us what you do and where you practice, and we'll shop it. Or call and talk it through with the people who'll actually handle your account.
